Are you bored at home during the lockdown? Passionate about writing? Want your work published on our website? Young Greenwich is looking for its next generation of creative writers to contribute to its digital platforms.

What can I write about?

Young Greenwich is looking for writers to cover a range of topics including:

  • Arts
  • Dance
  • Education
  • Events
  • Fashion
  • Music
  • Sports

As we are experiencing the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, you could write about experiences related to this, for example, '5 Things to do During a Lockdown' or 'How to stay active in Quarantine' etc.

Bonus tip: Make your written piece relatable & if you can tie it in to the Royal Borough of Greenwich - that's fantastic!

How many words?

A minimum of 400-1,100 words. This would give you the opportunity to write something short and sweet or a piece that is a little more elaborated.

Can I add images and videos?

Yes! Young Greenwich encourages all writers to use at least one supporting image in their work. Videos are also encouraged.

Bonus tip: If your files bounce back, please use WeTransfer to send your supporting images or videos.

Where will my work be published?

Your work will be published on the Young Greenwich website. and be shared across Young Greenwich’s social media channels; Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Bonus Tip: Make your work stand out. Writers will have the opportunity publish their work on Charlton Athletic Community Trust’s website which means your work can be seen by thousands of people online.

Will I get recognition for my work?

Yes, you will be credited for every work that has been published on Young Greenwich and you have the choice to link it to your personal blog or social media page.

How do I submit my work?

All work should be saved as a word document and emailed to Shade on with the subject line in the following format: ‘Your Name - Writer’
