Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) is closely monitoring the evolving situation around Coronavirus and is in regular contact with the Royal Borough of Greenwich (RBG), which it delivers Young Greenwich on behalf of.

CACT has been reviewing all current provision and has taken the decision to close its four youth hubs until further notice. The last sessions will take place on Friday 20 March (Valley Central) and Saturday 21 March (Avery Hill, Hawksmoor & Woolwich Common).

Update, 14/05/20: Young Greenwich is launching online activities for young people on Monday 18 May. Click here to find out more.

Head of Youth Service Jeannette Harrison said:

“Clearly, it is regrettable to have to make this decision but we take the wellbeing of staff and participants very seriously and, following government advice, feel closing hubs is the safest option for all.

“We will be in touch with young people and parents in coming weeks about other ways we can support them in this period.

"There are also plans to redeploy youth workers to support RBG’s plan to ensure that children of key workers as defined by the government are cared for."
