Young Greenwich Celebrates Annual Young Greenwich Day at The Valley
On Saturday, 25th January, Young Greenwich proudly celebrated its annual Young Greenwich Day as part of Charlton Athletic’s themed match day at The Valley. This exciting event brought together young people, families, and partners for a day of fun-filled activities, community engagement, and a celebration of youth services.
The event featured a variety of activities, including face painting, cupcake decorating, and tie-dye making. Our resident DJ, Epik Daiquan, kept the energy high with great music throughout the day. We were also fortunate to have Vintners Lane sponsor our raffle, generously providing vouchers for the lucky winners.
Young Greenwich had an informational stand showcasing our youth services, along with exclusive merchandise for attendees to take home. This year, we placed a special focus on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, featuring an interactive board where attendees could:
As part of the themed match day, Charlton Athletic players proudly wore Young Greenwich warm-up tops, further amplifying support for our youth service. Club mascots Floyd and Harvey were also on hand, bringing extra excitement and engaging with young visitors.
We were delighted to welcome our partners, including Oxleas NHS and Metro Judo, who provided valuable information about their services and their role in the Young Greenwich partnership.
The day concluded with young people having the opportunity to watch Charlton Athletic take on Shrewsbury, ending in a 1-0 victory—a fantastic way to wrap up the celebration!
We would like to extend our gratitude to Charlton Athletic FC for hosting this themed match day and to everyone who took part in making the event a success. We look forward to many more celebrations to come!
