As part of the Together For Winter campaign delivered by The Royal Borough of Greenwich (RBG), Hawksmoor received a generous grant to support young people and their families from our youth hubs through food and various provisions.
With this grant, Hawksmoor delivered multiple cooking sessions where young people are encouraged to use fresh ingredients to make a meal for themselves and the members of the club. This was paired up with the provision of free food bags for families. Each food bag has a recipe and everything needed to make a family meal, including meat, oil and herbs. In addition, the youth hub was also given extra food from Cherie a Community Champion from Morrisons Thamesmead- providing cereals, fruits etc. It also allowed Hawksmoor to purchase two brand new fridge freezers that help with storing their food safely
Any families that need extra support are signposted to the Live Well and Community Hub, delivered by the CACT Health Team. Furthermore, the families were provided £30 Gas / Electric top-up vouchers, to help them with the recent price increases
We cannot thank RBG enough for this grant and for supporting the youth hub, members and families. We know many benefited from this support and we no doubt have improved and developed relationships with families through this. Whilst this grant was for support during Wintertime it will have positive long-lasting effects on young people and their families
