On Saturday, April 6th, our youth service hosted our annual Young Greenwich Day at the Valley Stadium. It was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our service and connect with young people and families in the community. As part of the tradition, we enjoyed an afternoon filled with activities and capped it off by watching the Charlton vs. Barnsley home game.
Thanks to the Charlton Athletic Football Club Community 500 scheme, young people were able to experience the game in style. We were delighted to welcome partners like B Young Stars, who brought over 40 enthusiastic kids to join us for the event.
Throughout the day, our partners at Metro Judo and Aircraft Circus entertained the crowd with captivating performances and engaged young people in activities like juggling, hula hooping, and learning judo moves. Indoors at the Valley Central Youth Hub, there were plenty of hands-on activities, including creating a Young Greenwich mosaic, cake decoration, bead making, and a fun "Guess how many sweets are in the jar" game.
Families had the opportunity to learn more about the services we provide through informative areas set up on-site, with support from our health stream at Oxleas.
Adding to the vibrant atmosphere was our resident DJ Epik Daiquan, who kept the musical vibes going throughout the day. It was a fantastic event to kick off spring, and we're excited to continue celebrating our youth service in many more ways to come.
